WHY: President Johnsen will answer questions about the outcome of today鈥檚 override vote and the immediate next steps for the university.
BACKGROUND: The University of 91直播relies on public and private funding. In FY19, $327 million of the university's budget came from the state appropriation. After vetoes, the state's funding dropped to $192 million in FY20. Since 2014, the state鈥檚 contribution to the University of Alaska鈥檚 budget has declined from $378 million. Budget cuts have reduced the university鈥檚 service to the state, impacted its reputation and targeted the affordability for students.
