University of 91直播student leaders advocate in Juneau, March 16-17
WHAT: University of 91直播student government leaders will be meeting in Juneau for the
34th annual Legislative Affairs Conference. Over four days, 30 students will be advocating
the importance of higher education to elected officials.
The public is also invited to join the student University of 91直播Rally for Higher
Education on Monday at noon on the steps of the State Capitol Building.
WHO: 30 student government leaders from University of 91直播Anchorage, University of Alaska
Fairbanks, and University of 91直播Southeast.
Rally speakers include: former UAS Chancellor John Pugh, Nick Bursell, president
of the UAS Juneau campus student government , USUAF Senator Audrey Kirby and Kachemak
Bay Student Zobeida Rudkin.

WHY: Student leaders will advocate to their legislators and share their stories about how the 41 percent cut in state funding will affect their lives and impact their communities.
